Empires & PuzzlesHow to Get the Most Free Iron in Empires & Puzzles
Gems drive the summons in Empires & Puzzles and the game hands them out little by little through almost all of its activities. These are the free sources that genuinely add up.
What is the fastest and most efficient way to get Iron in Empires & Puzzles?
Empires & Puzzles combines a match-3 with a hero gacha, and that is where Gems come in: a single summon in the main portals costs 300 Gems and the ten-pull 2,600. Running alongside them are the season Coins β Atlantis, Valhalla, Underwild or the Dunes β earned by advancing through the maps and allowing one free summon for every 100 Coins. Understanding this double economy is what separates the players who pull when they can from the ones who pull when it makes sense.
Every day
- A few Gems per viewing, plus materials and tokens
Mystic Vision: three adverts every two hours
The tower to the left of your base lets you watch three adverts in a row and, after them, a two-hour cooldown kicks in before you can repeat. Each viewing hands over between two and five items: usually a low ascension material, a few Gems and a summon token, although rare materials or epic tokens occasionally drop. It is the most consistent source in the game precisely because of that: it does not depend on your level or your alliance, and with several rounds a day the monthly total is notable.
- Loot per hit and progress towards the titan chest
Hit the titan every day
Being in an active alliance unlocks titans, which appear continuously. Every titan flag you spend gives loot of its own and counts towards the titan quest chest. The difference between an alliance that kills titans and one that lets them escape is enormous in the medium term, because the chest only advances with defeated titans. You do not have to be the top damage dealer: it is enough to spend all your flags before each titan expires and coordinate in chat to concentrate the hits.
- Between 20 and 50 Gems in the titan chest, averaging 32
Empty the quest chests
The quest system keeps three chests running: monsters, heroes and titans. The first two fill up by farming map stages and raiding; the titan one requires five defeated titans, which in practice makes it an almost weekly reward. That titan chest is the most generous one-off Gem source in day-to-day play. Every so often a rare elemental chest also appears, with the best loot in ascension materials, but its frequency is unpredictable.
Every week
- War loot when you win and a chest every 25 points
Take part in every alliance war
Wars give two kinds of reward. The war loot goes to the winning team, and the war chest opens when you accumulate 25 alliance points: 5 for a win, 3 for a draw and 1 for a loss. In other words, losing also counts. The only thing that does not count is not taking part, because only the players who use their flags share in the payout. If you switch alliance halfway through a chest, your share of the loot is reduced in proportion to the points you contributed, so it is worth waiting for it to close before moving.
- One rare and one epic ascension material in stages 4 and 5
Finish the weekly rare quest
The rare quests rotate every week and consist of five stages of increasing difficulty, at a total cost of 60 world energy. They do not pay in Gems, and it is worth saying so plainly: they hand over rare and epic ascension materials in the last two stages. That is exactly their value for a player who does not pay, because ascension materials are the game's real bottleneck and buying them is what wrecks wallets. They do not accept loot tickets, so you have to play them by hand.
One time only
- 3 Coins per stage on normal and 5 on hard, once only
Advance through the season maps
Seasons 2 to 5 reward the first clear of each stage with Coins from their season: 3 on normal difficulty and 5 on hard. Since each free summon in those portals costs 100 Coins, clearing the map on hard from the start is the most efficient way to build up pulls without touching your Gems. It is a long-haul job, not a one-day one: there are dozens of provinces per season. The advantage is that you only have to do it once and the Coins do not expire while you wait for the portal.
Events only
- Event coins for free summons and loot by tier
Challenge events, towers and season events
The calendar runs challenge events every month, five season events a year around notable dates and periodic tower events. Almost all of them hand out specific coins that let you summon free in their portal once you gather the stated amount, plus prizes by score tier. You do not have to fight for a high ranking: a good part of the loot comes from simply completing the available stages. Checking the in-game calendar before spending Gems stops you pulling in a worse portal.
What does not work
No generator can add Iron to your Empires & Puzzles account: the balance is handled on the gameβs servers and there is no way to touch it from outside. If you arrived looking for one, we explain in detail how they work on the inside and why they always end the same way.

How do you get free Gems in Empires & Puzzles?
The reliable sources are Mystic Vision, which gives three viewings every two hours with Gems among its prizes; the quest chests, and especially the titan one, which hands out between 20 and 50 Gems; and the loot from events, wars and quests. No route gives large amounts at once, so the total depends on daily consistency and on belonging to an active alliance.
How much does a summon cost and how long does it take to gather that without paying?
A single summon in the main portals costs 300 Gems and the ten-pull 2,600. The season portals ask for 350 Gems or, alternatively, 100 Coins from that season. Since Gems come in as a trickle, the realistic route for a player who does not pay is to build up Coins by clearing map stages on hard and save the Gems for the portals with no coin of their own.
Why is it not worth skipping the chest timers?
Since version 76, skipping a chest's full timer costs 100 Gems, a third of a summon. Anyone doing it several times a day burns through the price of a pull in a few days. The only logic that justifies it is speeding up the appearance of the rare elemental chest, but its frequency is unpredictable and the accumulated spend usually far outweighs the value of the loot for a player who does not pay.
What is the difference between Gems and season Coins?
Gems are the general premium currency: they work in any portal, speed up timers and are bought with real money. Season Coins are specific to their map β Atlantis, Valhalla, Underwild, the Dunes β and only work for summoning in that portal, at 100 Coins per pull. They are earned by clearing stages for the first time, so they are the patient player's currency.
