What is the fastest and most efficient way to get Keys in FarmVille 2?
Zynga keeps Country Escape's two currencies well apart. Coins come from selling at the farm stand and from just about any harvest, and their job is to buy animals, seeds and basic expansions. Keys are the premium currency: they unlock land, speed up production and buy exclusive items. There is no facility that manufactures keys continuously, so the entire free supply comes from one-off rewards scattered across the map and the events calendar.

On the orders board, some requests show a key icon instead of the usual coin payment. They are a minority, so the tactic is simple: do not blindly accept the first order you see. Look through the list, fill the ones that pay in keys first and dismiss the coin ones if they do not interest you, so the board refreshes with new options. Keeping the barn stocked with mid-level processed goods is what lets you close those orders the moment they appear.

The daily bonus and reward boxes
The game hands out a reward box that can be claimed several times a day, with a gap of a few hours between one and the next. The usual contents are coins, seeds and golden gloves, but keys come out too. Since the cycle does not line up with the calendar day, dropping in two or three times spread out catches more windows than one long session. It is the smallest source of them all, but also the only one that does not require having anything produced or depending on other players.

Fishing in the cove with golden nets
The cove is the game's fishing area and it is where treasure chests appear. Fishing with a normal net mostly gives fish and materials; using golden nets clearly raises the chance of pulling up a chest, and those chests usually contain a handful of keys. Golden nets are limited, so it is worth saving them for the cove rather than burning them on ordinary catches. This is one of Country Escape's quirks compared with other farming games: a good share of the premium currency comes out of the water, not the fields.

Co-op tasks and visits to neighbouring farms
Joining an active co-op opens a reward channel that does not exist when playing solo: certain group tasks pay in keys, and shipments between members speed up production that would otherwise block your farm. Visiting other players' farms and spreading friendship fertiliser also leaves small bonuses behind. As in any Zynga game, the quality of the co-op makes the difference: if the group does not complete tasks, that channel stays at zero no matter how much you produce.

Upgrading buildings and working through the quest book
Some production building upgrades hand over keys when they finish, as do certain milestones in the quest book in the bottom corner of the screen. They are one-time payouts, not repeatable, but they add up nicely during the early levels of the game. It is worth checking the quest book now and then instead of playing purely on autopilot, because you often have quests that are practically finished without having claimed them, and some can be settled with goods already in your barn.

Zynga schedules events fairly often, usually with a progress bar you fill by handing in specific goods and prizes spread across tiers. Keys tend to sit in the middle and upper tiers, so the event is only worth it if you are going to get that far. Before you start, look at which product it asks for and check whether your factories turn it out at a good rate; if not, it is better to aim for a realistic middle tier than to burn the whole barn chasing the final prize.

How do you get keys without relying on chest luck?
Key-marked orders are the most predictable route, because you decide which ones to accept and which to dismiss to refresh the board. Building upgrades and quest book milestones are also fixed amounts known in advance. Golden net fishing and reward boxes contribute more volume in the long run, but with a lot of variability from one day to the next.
What is worth spending keys on?
On unlocking land and on permanent expansions to your farm, which stay with you for the rest of the game. Speeding up production with keys is the worst-performing expense, because you trade a scarce currency for a few minutes of waiting. Exclusive decorative items are a matter of personal taste: they do not block progress, so leave them until you are no longer short of land.
What is the practical difference between coins and keys?
Coins regenerate on their own with any sale at the farm stand and are rarely a real limit. Keys are not produced: they only arrive as rewards. That is why the game's important decisions are about keys and not coins, and why selling goods at the stand to pay for animals or seeds is perfectly reasonable, while spending keys on the same thing is not.
Why are key generator pages completely useless?
Because the account is validated on Zynga's servers and not on your device. Those sites make money from the surveys and downloads they ask you for along the way, and modified versions of the game can cost you access to the account. Every real key arrives through orders, chests, the co-op, upgrades or events, and there is no shortcut outside the game.
