Star Wars: Galaxy of HeroesHow to Get the Most Free Crystals in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes
Crystals are the premium currency in Galaxy of Heroes and, unlike other games in the genre, they can be earned every single day by playing. The key is the daily Fleet Arena payout.
What is the fastest and most efficient way to get Crystals in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes?
Crystals are used to buy from the shipments store, refresh energy, add arena attempts and pick up character shards. Galaxy of Heroes is one of the few gacha games that hands out premium currency on a recurring, predictable basis: the daily Fleet Arena payout pays according to the rank you hold at the exact moment of payout. On top of that come the daily quests, Galactic War and guild rewards. A consistent player keeps a steady income without spending money.
Every day
- From 400 crystals at rank 1 down to 50 in the 21-50 bracket
Daily Fleet Arena payout
This is the main source of free crystals. Every account has its own payout hour, set by the device's time zone the first time the game was opened and changeable a couple of times a year from the settings. At that hour your rank is frozen and you are paid by bracket: around 400 crystals at first place, 200 between sixth and tenth, 100 between eleventh and twentieth, and 50 down to fiftieth. From fifty-first onwards there are no crystals, only tokens.
- The difference between 50 and several hundred crystals a day
Climbing ranks before payout
Winning an arena battle swaps your rank with the opponent you beat, so your final position depends on when you use your attempts. The effective move is to attack shortly before your own payout hour, once the players above you have already spent their attempts. Communities in each bracket coordinate their schedules for exactly this reason. Moving your payout hour to a time when you can play calmly usually pays off more than upgrading your squad.
- Around fifty crystals a day between the two of them
Daily quests and Galactic War
The game sets out a batch of simple daily objectives: spending energy, playing arena battles, taking part in challenges or running shipments. Each objective pays crystals and completing the batch unlocks an extra chest. Finishing Galactic War through to the last node adds another block. These are routine tasks that take a few minutes and, together with the fleet payout, they form the backbone of a free player's budget. Leaving them half done is the most common crystal leak.
Every week
- Crystals for promoting divisions and for your results each round
Grand Arena Championships
The championships pit players of similar power against each other over several rounds within a season. Beyond the mode's own currency, they hand out crystals for promoting between divisions and for closing each round with good results. It is a turn-based attack and defence mode where placing your squads well matters more than owning the biggest collection, so an organised player can perform above their account level. This is where a lot of the rewards that squad arena used to give ended up.
- A guild-wide payout based on the total points reached
Territory Battles and guild activity
Being in an active guild changes your account's economy. Territory Battles and Territory Wars hand out collective chests whose contents scale with the points the guild puts together, and they include crystals alongside gear and shards. There are also prizes for individual activity within the guild. Finding a guild that clears content regularly is one of the decisions that speeds up a free player's progress the most.
One time only
- Several thousand crystals spread across your progression
Achievements, quests and one-time events
The achievement list pays crystals for milestones like levelling up, collecting characters from a faction, upgrading gear or clearing the Light Side and Dark Side battles for the first time. Legendary events and the Journey Guide quest chains add further blocks. They are not repeatable income, but for a young account they make up most of the available balance. It is worth going back through the achievements tab now and then, because many are met by accident.
Events only
- One-off contributions depending on the active event
Recurring events and galactic challenges
The calendar rotates galactic challenges, bounty hunts and themed events with modifiers and feats. Completing those feats pays crystals on top of the event's own currency. Bounty hunts hand out crystals for progress milestones and usually coincide with character releases. Since they change every few weeks, it is worth looking at which feats you can meet with your current collection and focusing on those instead of trying to complete them all.
What does not work
No generator can add Crystals to your Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes account: the balance is handled on the gameβs servers and there is no way to touch it from outside. If you arrived looking for one, we explain in detail how they work on the inside and why they always end the same way.

How does the daily arena payout work in Galaxy of Heroes?
Every account has a fixed payout hour, inherited from the device's time zone and changeable a couple of times a year. At that moment the game looks at the rank you hold in Fleet Arena and pays by bracket: around 400 crystals at first place and decreasing amounts down to fiftieth, beyond which there are no crystals at all.
Why does Squad Arena no longer hand out crystals?
Crystals were removed from Squad Arena at the end of 2021 and moved to the Grand Arena Championships. Since then the daily squad payout gives arena tokens and credits, while Fleet Arena keeps paying crystals by rank. That is why free players today prioritise their ships over their character squad.
How many crystals can you gather a day playing for free?
It depends almost entirely on your fleet rank. A player who finishes the daily quests and Galactic War already gathers a few dozen crystals; if they also hold a high fleet rank, the daily total can approach several hundred. Without a paying rank, income comes down to the fixed part from quests and achievements.
How should you spend accumulated crystals?
The usual recommendation among veteran players is to save them for cheap energy refreshes and for specific shards blocking a character you need in a legendary event. Spending them on arena attempt refreshes or store bundles pays off far less in the long run. No external page can add crystals to your account: the balance sits on Capital Games' servers.
