Tokens are the expensive currency in Asphalt 8 and Gameloft closed almost every free tap years ago. Three or four reliable routes are left, and it is worth knowing them before you spend a single one.
What is the fastest and most efficient way to get Credits in Asphalt 8?
Asphalt 8 juggles several currencies at once: Credits fund upgrades and some cars, Fusion Coins pay for Pro upgrades, and Tokens are the premium tier, the one that unlocks whole cars and skips conditions in events. The internal conversion works out at around 200 Credits per Token, so a Token is worth far more than it looks. Earning them is slow and depends on ads, daily races and specific events.

- A few Tokens at the higher milestones; the bulk is Fusion Coins
Milestone ads and Ads Relay Offers
From the main screen there is an ads section that adds up your views until you unlock milestones. The intermediate rewards are usually Fusion Coins and Credits, but the high milestones include Tokens. Ads Relay Offers work the same way, with a chain of back-to-back ads handing out prizes as you reach each stretch. It is tedious, but it is the only genuinely daily source of Tokens for an account that does not pay. It is worth emptying both counters before they reset, because they do not carry over from one day to the next.
- A handful of Tokens a day, as long as you finish the marked race
The daily World Series and Gauntlet race
Both the World Series Classic Season and the Gauntlet mode set aside a daily race with its own reward. Since the 2023 holiday update that reward includes Tokens, alongside Credits and Fusion Coins. You do not need to master the competitive mode: finishing the day's marked race is enough. The Gauntlet also hands out badges that can later be exchanged in its shop. If you are only going to give the game five minutes, these two races are the compulsory stop before anything else.

Fuel refills from the daily ads
This is not a source of Tokens, it is the best way not to lose them. Buying fuel costs around 6.5 Tokens per point, up to 65 for a full tank, and it is the hole most people's currency drains through. Players without VIP get free refills by watching the daily ads; they stack up and appear instead of the paid option when you tap the plus symbol. Since it only tops you up to ten points, it is worth using them when the tank is nearly empty.

Credits with Multi-Credits and Double Credits
Credits are earned by racing, but the rate changes a lot depending on how you collect them. When a race ends, the Multi-Credits option appears: a short ad that multiplies your prize. The Double Credits booster does the same for a set time, and since the 2020 holiday update it is bought with Fusion Coins, not Tokens. The combination of a profitable race, the multiplier and the ad afterwards is what the community calls farming, and it is the realistic route to funding upgrades without touching your premium balance.

The Gauntlet and multiplayer shops
Competing in Gauntlet and in World Series leaves badges that you spend in their respective shops. The documented exchange rate is 500 Credits for 10 badges, and Fusion Coins come out at the same price, which means one Credit equals one Fusion Coin. These shops do not sell Tokens, but they do take the pressure off them: the more you cover with Credits and Fusion, the less tempting it is to dip into your premium balance. It is worth stopping by at the end of each season, before the badges are left with no use.

Each car's Mastery challenges
Every vehicle has a list of Mastery challenges that are completed once and pay Credits. The last challenge on certain cars used to give Tokens, but that reward disappeared with the eighth anniversary update, so do not count on it. It is still clean money for a garage that is just starting out: they are objectives you clear by playing normally, without spending event fuel. Look over the Mastery tab of the cars you already use before you think about buying a new one.

- Larger amounts, but only in the events that include them
Limited-time events that hand out Tokens
Time-limited events started giving Tokens again with the Christmas 2024 update, though not all of them include them. Before spending fuel it is worth opening the event's reward table and checking whether there are Tokens in any of the tiers. When there are, they tend to sit in the highest steps, the ones that demand several races in a row. Since fuel regenerates at one point every ten minutes and the tank only holds ten, planning your session matters more than skill behind the wheel.

How do you get free Tokens in Asphalt 8 these days?
Three routes are left: the ad milestones, including Ads Relay Offers; the daily World Series Classic Season and Gauntlet races; and the limited-time events that include them among their rewards. The classic Daily Bonus disappeared in 2020 and Mastery Tokens were removed with the eighth anniversary, so any guide that mentions them is out of date.
How much is a Token worth against Credits?
Comparing prices inside the game, for an advanced account one Token is worth around 200 Credits; on new accounts the ratio drops to 60 or 80, because the packs pay out less. The upgrade tables confirm that relationship: the price in Tokens comes from dividing the Credit price by 200 and rounding. That is why spending Tokens on fuel or on upgrades is the worst possible use.
Why is the daily Token bonus no longer there?
Gameloft removed the Daily Bonus in the spring 2020 update. What remains of that system are the fuel refills: VIP players get them in the bonus and everyone else gets them by watching the daily ads. It is an important change, because a lot of old guides still assume a steady drip of Tokens that simply does not exist today.
How should you spend Tokens once they finally build up?
On cars, and only on cars you are actually going to use. Normal upgrades are paid for with Credits and Pro ones with Fusion Coins, so you never need to touch your premium balance to level a vehicle up. Skipping an event's conditions or refilling the tank are expenses that evaporate; a new car stays in the garage and keeps generating Credits in every race.
