Age of Z OriginsHow to Get the Most Free Gold in Age of Z Origins
In Age of Z Origins gold is the bottleneck of any free account. The game hands out a fair amount through progression and events, but only if you stop spending it to speed up things that patience would solve.
What is the fastest and most efficient way to get Gold in Age of Z Origins?
Gold is the premium currency of Age of Z Origins and is not produced in any building: it comes in through quests, task chests, events and official codes. It is spent mostly on raising your VIP level, planting flags when you expand territory, refreshing shops and buying one-off deals in the armoury. The secondary currencies work separately: Z Coins from the Distribution Centre are used to trade officers, and defence tower coins are only spent in their own shop. Mixing them up is the most common mistake.
Every day
- Tiered chests with gold, speed-ups and materials every day
Complete the daily request up to the last chest
The daily task list works on accumulated points and releases chests at several tiers. At first you will not reach the last one, and that is normal: the high tiers demand a volume of troops and research you do not have yet. Even so, it is worth reviewing it before deciding what to build, because a lot of actions you were going to take anyway score. If you are a few points short at the end of the day, a cheap purchase at the Distribution Centre is usually enough to close the last chest without spending gold.
- Purple officer fragments in exchange for selling the ones you will not use
Use the Distribution Centre without refreshing with gold
The Distribution Centre lets you sell officers who contribute nothing and buy fragments of the ones who do. The list refreshes on its own three times a day, so paying gold to refresh it is throwing the currency away: just come back later. For a free account the rule is to sell expendable greens and blues and buy only fragments of purple war officers, not materials or experience. Hold on to the ones that give gathering bonuses until research makes them unnecessary.
- Queue speed-ups, elite mines and alliance quest rewards
Lean on your alliance so you do not spend gold
Asking for help on every construction and research cuts times you would otherwise pay to speed up with gold, and returning that help builds alliance points. An alliance that has raised its buildings and controls elite mines improves production for all its members, so the criterion for picking a group is not its ranking but the infrastructure it has built. Collective quests and chests add a steady stream of materials and resources. It is the biggest multiplier available to an account that does not spend money.
Every week
- Enough tower coins for blueprint chests and officer experience
Score high in tower defence at the weekly reset
Infinite tower defence unlocks with your city at level 10 and its scoreboard resets once a week. The efficient method is to play the first run after the reset by hand, when every wave counts towards setting your ceiling, and to use auto mode the rest of the week to collect coins effortlessly. Those coins do not convert into gold, but they pay for blueprint chests and officer experience that would otherwise come out of your premium wallet. Check the armoury daily too, in case there are discounts.
One time only
- The biggest block of gold in the whole game, spread across dozens of milestones
Squeeze the Recovery Plan from the start
The Recovery Plan chains together building, research and combat objectives and pays out once per milestone. It is the largest gold intake a new account gets and it is easily wasted. The efficient way through it is to save your consumable items and not use them until the plan itself or an event asks for that specific action: elite recruitments, healing, scouting. That way one and the same action closes the plan's milestone and scores in the active event, and you get paid twice for the same expenditure.
Events only
- High rewards for actions you were going to take anyway
Sync the scheduled events with your reserves
The calendar rotates between timed city upgrade events, vehicle trials, titan power boosts and war weeks. Almost all of them reward activities that are part of your routine, so your returns depend entirely on when you carry them out. Save mutant meat, recruitment orders and speed-ups until the corresponding event is running. A free player who saves for two weeks and dumps everything in the right window gets more out of it than someone who spends daily without checking the calendar.
- One-off batches of resources, speed-ups and some gold
Redeem the codes the studio publishes
Camel Games publishes gift codes on its official channels, usually tied to anniversaries, major updates or social media campaigns. They are redeemed from your account settings menu and they expire, so they only work while they are live. It is not a source you can plan around and the amounts are modest, but it is free money with no risk. Trust only the game's official channels: pages promising endless code lists are usually recycling expired ones.
What does not work
No generator can add Gold to your Age of Z Origins account: the balance is handled on the gameβs servers and there is no way to touch it from outside. If you arrived looking for one, we explain in detail how they work on the inside and why they always end the same way.
See why Gold generators are a scam βFrequently asked questions
How should you spend gold when you pay nothing in the game?
The majority recommendation among veteran players is to put it into raising your VIP level, because the bonuses it grants are permanent and affect production, queues and gathering. Spending it on speeding up construction or buying loose resources pays far less, since both are obtained by playing. The reasonable exception are the discounted armoury deals, which are worth checking daily.
How much gold can you gather in a week playing for free?
There is no fixed figure because almost everything depends on where you are in your progression: a new account lives off the Recovery Plan and pulls in far more than a veteran one, whose stable intake comes down to daily chests, events and occasional codes. That is why the practical advice is not to maximise what comes in, but to reduce what goes out: fewer impulsive speed-ups and no paid shop refreshes.
What is the difference between Z Coins and the game's gold?
They are separate economies. Gold is the general premium currency and covers VIP, flags and shops. Z Coins are only used inside the Distribution Centre, to sell officers you do not need and buy fragments of the ones you do. They do not convert into each other, which is why it makes no sense to spend gold refreshing a list that renews itself several times a day.
Why do we advise against the gold generators that turn up in search results?
Because there is no external route to inject premium currency into an account: your balance is validated on the studio's servers. Pages promising otherwise ask for account identifiers, surveys or app installs, and the usual outcome is losing your data or your account. Everything that works is inside the game: the progression plan, daily chests, your alliance, events and official codes.
