Below sits everything else: Blue Motes, Poro Coins and chests, generated through matches, recurring missions and events. A consistent player can gather champions without paying, but it helps to understand what each system rewards before spending anything.

How do you get Wild Cores without paying?
Riot defines them as a top-up currency, so they do not drop from missions or normal matches. The only free routes are occasional: anniversary events, compensation for technical problems and official giveaways from Riot or partnered creators. Any site promising to generate them is fraudulent and usually ends in account theft. If you want champions without paying, the real path is Blue Motes.
How long does it take to unlock a champion by playing?
