Pokémon UNITE draws a clear line between what you play for and what you pay for. Aeos Gems come in through direct purchase or through the paid membership, which drips them out daily while the subscription stays active. License Points are earned in battles, daily missions and events, and they are what unlocks Pokémon licences through the License Journey. Added to that are Aeos tickets and the energy rewards, which cover items and some cosmetics.

The daily mission list repeats every day and completes with very little play time. Quick, standard and ranked matches all push your License Journey forward whether you win or lose, and since the December 2025 rework there is no longer a weekly coin cap holding the pace back. There are two kinds of points to keep straight: universal ones, which work on any licence in the journey, and exclusive ones, which only count toward the specific Pokémon they belong to. Since licences are paid for with these points, this is the route that decides how many characters an account that never spends money can unlock.

Aeos tickets
Aeos tickets arrive through ranked rewards, events and missions, and they have their own shop inside the game. They cover trainer outfits, held items, battle items and upgrade boosters. It is worth checking the window regularly, because the selection rotates.

Unite licences through the License Journey
Each licence is obtained once and gives permanent access to that Pokémon, with the particularity that you can also buy it outright with Aeos Gems instead of grinding the points. Setting a target before spending avoids getting stranded between two licences.

Free track of the battle pass
Each season launches a 60-tier pass of which roughly half, some 29 tiers, is reachable without buying anything. It includes no Aeos Gems: the premium pass is paid for with them precisely, so it is not a route for recovering premium currency, but for stacking gameplay resources.

Anniversary celebrations, collaborations and themed events add their own missions with fixed rewards, and sometimes include Pokémon licences or Holowear outright. What does not work
