Shadow Fight 2How to Get the Most Free Gems in Shadow Fight 2
Shadow Fight 2's gems are earned in small, carefully limited amounts: optional ads, achievements and first wins against bosses. Coins, on the other hand, come out of almost any fight.
What is the fastest and most efficient way to get Gems in Shadow Fight 2?
Shadow Fight 2 uses three main currencies that replace one another as the story advances: gold until the Interlude, platinum until Act VII and credits from then on, with a 1-to-100,000 conversion at each jump. Alongside them are gems, the premium currency, which buy anything purchasable with coins plus exclusive enchanted gear, and remove delivery timers. You start with 9 gems in the original version and 50 in the Special Edition.
Every day
- 3 gems per video, up to around 30 gems a day
Optional ads from the shop or the map
This is the most regular free source in the game. Each completed video pays 3 gems and the daily cap sits around 30, which works out at about ten ads spread through the day. You reach them from the gems section of the shop or from the icon in the bottom-left corner of the map. Availability depends on the ad inventory in your region, so some days not all of them show up. If you are only going to do one thing for gems, make it this.
- The steady income that keeps your gear going
Coins from game modes and daily quests
Every mode except the Underworld pays the main currency of the act you are in. Survival, Duel, Tournament and Eclipse reset regularly and are the route to funding weapon and armour upgrades without touching your gems. Daily quests add their own rewards, including Underworld keys. Since gems also skip delivery timers, every extra match you play to gather coins is a gem you are not spending to rush a purchase.
One time only
- 1 gem per achievement, 3 for Eclipse achievements
Game achievements
Most achievements hand out one gem on completion and the Eclipse ones go up to three. They are cumulative objectives of the win-so-many-fights, use-a-specific-weapon or reach-a-streak variety, so they close out on their own while you play the campaign. It is worth opening the list every now and then to see which ones are nearly done and finish them off, because many only need a few more repetitions of something you are already doing.
- 6 gems per boss, one time only
First win against each demon boss
Beating each of the campaign's demon bosses for the first time hands out 6 gems. It is the biggest single reward a free-to-play player can reach, and since it is tied to story progress it forms a reasonable starting cushion as long as you don't spend gems on rushing deliveries or on rematches. Repeat wins no longer pay, so it is better to reach each boss with upgraded gear and potions ready than to retry the fight on gems.
- Varies with the task, with a risk of not being paid
Tapjoy offers
From the gems section of the shop, the free gems option opens a panel of external offers: installing apps, signing up for services or reaching a level in another game. The amount depends on the task. Two warnings are in order: there are documented cases where the reward never arrives after the requirement is met, and many offers involve handing over personal data or installing third-party apps. Weigh it up before accepting any task that asks you to register.
- Gems from story fights, Survival, Duel and Old Wounds
Special Edition: gems from the campaign
Shadow Fight 2 Special Edition, a one-off purchase with no ads and no energy, hands out gems considerably more generously than the free version. On top of starting with 50 instead of 9, it gives gems as rewards in story fights, Survival, Duel and the Old Wounds mode, and raises the amounts from bosses and achievements. If you are considering spending money on gems in the free version, comparing with the price of this edition first makes sense.
Events only
- Gems only with a high leaderboard placing
Underworld raid seasons
The Underworld runs in seasons: you take part in raids against bosses using keys and build up a score on a leaderboard. When the season closes, prizes are handed out by position, and the top brackets include a small amount of gems alongside the rest of the rewards. Keys are obtained by beating previous bosses, from the Mystery Box, from season rewards and from daily quests, so you can take part without buying them with gems if you manage your pace well.
What does not work
No generator can add Gems to your Shadow Fight 2 account: the balance is handled on the game’s servers and there is no way to touch it from outside. If you arrived looking for one, we explain in detail how they work on the inside and why they always end the same way.

How many gems a day can you gather by watching ads?
Around 30, at 3 gems per completed video. The counter resets every day, so the maximum sustainable rate is about ten views a day split between the shop and the map access point. Actual availability varies with your region and the time of day, because it depends on the ad inventory the network has at that moment.
Why do gems run out so fast in Shadow Fight 2?
Because many uses compete at once: skipping delivery timers, buying enchanted gear that isn't sold for coins, resetting the skill tree for 35 gems, asking for a rematch after losing to a challenger, buying raid keys and creating a clan. The game hands out gems in very small amounts against that catalogue, which is why it is best to pick one goal and not spend them on convenience shortcuts.
What happens to coins when you reach the Interlude and Act VII?
They are replaced. When the Interlude begins, Sly exchanges all your gold for platinum at a rate of 1 platinum per 100,000 gold coins, and in Act VII, Kali repeats the operation from platinum to credits at the same ratio. Every mode switches to paying the new currency. That means hoarding gold right before the change gives you no advantage at all.
How do you get Underworld keys without spending gems?
By beating earlier Underworld bosses, opening the Mystery Box, completing daily quests and claiming the end-of-season rewards. Gems are only a shortcut for buying them when you are short. If you plan your raids around the keys you already generate for free, you can compete on the leaderboard without putting premium currency into it.
